Raising of Incense
|
|
The Raising of Incense prayer occurs twice in the daily cycle of liturgical prayer. Once in Vespers (i.e. in the evening) and once in Matins (i.e. in the morning). For Sunday liturgy, this translates to Vespers on Saturday night and Matins on Sunday morning. It is a prayer that has many litanies, a reading of the Psalm and Gospel of the day, doxologies, and an Absolution.
